A Peeve is a tiny, fluffy little creature that some people say is fur all the way down. Of course, that’s not true–there’s most definitely a stomach in there somewhere! Peeves are a guardian spirit, native to the 4th-dimensional extra-planar realm known as HammerSpace, because that’s where cartoon characters keep those giant hammers that they can pull out of nowhere at any time. Peeves most often enter our realm from inside empty boxes, letting them use the postal service to find new hosts. On arrival, they imprint on the first person they see–usually whoever opened the box– and direct all their guardian instincts towards them. Hence, they are your Pet Peeve in particular. They are also uniquely mischievous little creatures, but the luck and good fortune they bring is so great that you’ll excuse such displays of Peevishness.
